"Red Apple" Crochet Baby Hat FREE PATTERN!!!

I love those little lemon, pumpkin and apple hats for babies, so I designed an easy and quick pattern to create these types of hats!  Just use this pattern and choose the color of yarn you want to make for either the lemon, pumpkin, orange or apple.  I used red yarn for this lovely "Red Apple" Crochet Baby Hat!!!

Leaf Pattern
(Make 2)

Chain 11 .  In the fourth ch from the hook, work 4 dc.  Work 1 dc in each of the next 4 ch.  In the next ch, work 1 hdc.  In the next ch, work 1 sc.  In the last ch, 1 sl st, 1 ch, 1 sl st.  Now work up the other side of the leaf.  1 sc in first ch.  1 hdc in next ch.  1 dc in each of the next 4 ch.  4 dc in the last ch.
To add the stem, ch 5.  Turn and 1 sc in each chain.  Sl st in the first stitch of the leaf.  Fasten off and keep 15 inch length of yarn to sew leaf onto hat.

Attaching Leaves to Hat

Using the photograph for leaf placement, sew both leaves to the hat.  To attach, sew right along center line (vein) of each leaf.  Be sure to have the stems at the top center of the hat.  When both leaves are attached, use the remaining yarn from one of the leaves to sew the stems together.  Sew right through the center of the stem and then wrap the yarn around the base of the stem.  Fasten off securely and weave in loose ends of  yarn.

    1. Switch to a larger needle. I used and I needle
My yarn was baby weight, so I used two strands together.

  11. Thank you for all your Ideas! I am 75 and I make a TON of baby hats - most are for the Newborn Nursery at the Hospital in nearby Waco, Tx. There are an avg. of 425 babies born each month!) I do sell some, so I can buy more yarn to make more hats, so I DO stay busy! I also make them for the children's hospital in Temple, Tx.
The more fun ideas the better, and the nurses have so much fun matching the hats to the different babies!
    God Bless you!

  12. As a parent, I would like to pick the idea and instruction from here. Regarding baby toys and baby outfits, we should choose the best one of the best brand; but it is quite better to choose handmade products. Here this article also describes the whole instructions on how to prepare baby hats. Thanks for providing such wonderful tips and I hope, I can prepare a suitable baby hat while following the above instructions.
