About Me

Welcome!!

I have loved crochet, knitting, sewing, gardening, and crafts all my life.   I was a Family and Consumer Education teacher for 20 years and a Library Media Specialist/Technology Educator for 13 additional years. I've taught children from elementary school through high school and adults (and LOVED it!!)

I am married to my wonderful husband, Bill, and we have one daughter, Katie.  She is married to Andy,  and we have two delightful grandsons, Connor, age 7, and Archer, age 4.  We also have two very important personalities at our house, Olivia, a miniature dachshund, and Sebastian, a black labrador retriever!  You will be hearing lots about them and their adventures at Lakeview Cottage!!!

We live on a beautiful lake and that is where I design crochet patterns and create hats for babies and children. I love designing and creating hats!! I am inspired by the colors in my gardens and the interests of my grandsons, their mom and their friends!

I hope you love the patterns and ideas you find here and in my Etsy shop, too!! You will also find me talking about my gardens, and other craft ideas.  I will definitely be posting many photos and tutorials.

Finally, I do love to play with technology and I will post lots of ideas about how to use it in fun, creative ways!!! So, welcome to my blog. I hope you will find all kinds of useful and fun information here!!!!
